Debenhams, Newcastle

The team’s fit out to the 140,000 sq ft flagship Debenhams store in Newcastle was the company’s single biggest retail undertaking of the year. The new store forms part of a single-level mall extension at Eldon Square Shopping Centre in the city, housing Debenhams as an anchor tenant in a self styled ‘icon’ store. Contracts Manager Liam Martin said, “The sheer scale of the project made this one particularly challenging. We also needed to incorporate major changes mid project, though we still managed to achieve our completion date of 18th December, well ahead of our original deadline of 15th January of this year”.
