Penneys, Waterford
It is not often that a Premier team finds itself on site with a team of archaeologists, but that’s what transpired at Penney’s in Waterford last autumn. The archaeologists worked on site to disinter 15th century relics in a store which had been completely demolished to make way for the new build, and part of the old Waterford City wall was enclosed within a glass surround to preserve this piece of the ancient city. Contracts Manager Billy Elliot led a ten man team to complete the 40,000 sq ft sales floor fit out within the stipulated 14 weeks timeframe.
